A microbiota atlas of infertile women with normal weight and obesity

The Carlos Simon Foundation is proud to announce the publication of our latest study in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

In this study, we explored the microbiomes of the digestive and reproductive tracts in infertile women with obesity and uncovered how alterations to the microbial composition of the endometrium may impact fertility and assisted reproductive treatment outcomes.

This finding could help to improve diagnostic tools and therapies for women facing fertility challenges. By understanding how these microbial communities influence reproductive health, we lay the foundation for improved treatments and outcomes for patients.

Led by Dr. Inmaculada Moreno, this work represents months of collaboration, dedication, and scientific discovery.

We would like to extend our gratitude to Marta Gonzalez-Monfort, Jose Bellver, Sandra González, Bruno Toson, Elena Labarta, Gemma Castillón, Giulia Mariani, Carmina Vidal, Juan Giles, Fabio Cruz, Agustin Ballesteros, Marcos Ferrando, Juan Antonio García-Velasco, Diana Valbuena, Felipe Vilella, Marcos Parras-Molto, Esther Tercero-Atencia, and Carlos Simon for their contributions.
