A summer of science: experiencing the first Carlos Simon Foundation Summer School

The Carlos Simon Foundation is excited to announce the successful completion of our first Summer School, held from June 17th to July 26th, 2024, at our facilities in Paterna, Valencia. This unique experience provided an exceptional opportunity for young scientists to immerse themselves in the field of biomedical research.

Throughout the program, participants engaged in a variety of activities designed to foster both practical skills and scientific knowledge. The Summer School featured:

  • Shadowing Daily Lab Tasks: Students had the opportunity to observe the daily operations in our laboratories, participating in tasks such as sample registration, endometrial biopsy processing, and cell culture. This hands-on experience provided them with deep insights into the research process.
  • Training Sessions: Our experts provided comprehensive training on advanced scientific techniques, including sequencing analysis and molecular techniques such as RT-qPCR and Western Blot. Students learned to handle biological samples from collection to analysis and safe storage.
  • Meetings: Students also had the opportunity to participate in weekly internal meetings.

We are delighted with the positive feedback we have received and are already planning the next edition. We look forward to welcoming even more students next year!

Stay tuned to our social media channels for updates on the next Summer School and other exciting initiatives from the Carlos Simon Foundation.
