The Carlos Simon Foundation participated in the 42nd Annual Meeting of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, held in London from July 5 to 8, 2026.
Dr. Inmaculada Moreno, Senior Principal Investigator at the Foundation, took part in Session 73, “Microbiome in implantation and early pregnancy: vaginal vs endometrial analysis.” During the debate, she discussed the value of endometrial microbiome analysis for studying implantation and early pregnancy.
The Foundation was also represented through a poster presentation from Dr. Felipe Vilella’s group, titled “Prospective cohort study of endometrial fluid miRNAs as epigenetic mediators and biomarkers of offspring obesity risk.” The work explored how microRNAs present in endometrial fluid during the window of implantation may provide insights into the early molecular mechanisms linking maternal obesity and offspring metabolic risk.
Participation in ESHRE 2026 allowed the Carlos Simon Foundation to share ongoing research in reproductive medicine, the endometrial microbiome, and early developmental programming with the international scientific community.
