Drs. Carlos Simon and Xavier Santamaria attended the 2025 ASRM Scientific Congress & Expo in San Antonio, representing the Foundation across several key scientific sessions.
On October 28, Dr. Simon presented new research on the relationship between uterine microbiota and endometriosis, showing that the presence of Fusobacterium nucleatum is not significantly associated with the disease.
On October 29, he led the Carlos Simon Excellence in Translational Research Symposium, organized in collaboration with ASRM to highlight research that bridges the laboratory and clinical care. The session featured Prof. David Gardner, recipient of the 2025 Carlos Simon Excellence in Translational Research Award, and Prof. Dennis Lo, who received the award in 2024, both recognized for their outstanding contributions to reproductive medicine.
That same day, Dr. Xavier Santamaria presented the results of the Phase 1/2 clinical trial “Autologous CD133+ Bone Marrow-Derived Stem Cell Therapy for Moderate-to-Severe Asherman Syndrome”, showing the potential of this advanced cell therapy to restore endometrial function in affected patients.
Finally, on October 30, Dr. Simon participated as a speaker at ASRM INNOVATE, a summit designed to foster collaboration between scientists, clinicians, and innovators to accelerate progress in reproductive health through technology and cross-disciplinary exchange.
