Carlos Simon receives the 2025 Universitat-Societat Award for Knowledge Transfer

On April 14, the historic La Nau cloister hosted the 2025 Universitat-Societat Awards ceremony, organized by the Social Council of the University of Valencia to recognize outstanding contributions to the relationship between academia and society.

Dr. Carlos Simón, president of the Carlos Simon Foundation, received the award in the Knowledge Transfer category for his role in advancing reproductive medicine and translating research into clinical solutions. In his speech, Dr. Simon acknowledged the University of Valencia as a supportive environment throughout his career and emphasized the broader social value of his work:

“Knowledge transfer in reproductive medicine has helped improve the diagnosis and treatment of infertility for thousands of women, giving them the chance to become mothers.”

He described the award as “a source of pride and honor,” and a recognition that reflects a way of doing science that also defines the mission of our Foundation.

The event also honored philosopher Adela Cortina (Alumni Plus Award), Prof. Vanessa Paredes (Teaching Excellence), and the company Power Electronics (University-Society Collaboration), highlighting outstanding contributions across academia and industry.
